FieldStamp Privacy Policy
FieldStamp is a jobsite camera. It takes a photo, stamps the date, project details and street address onto the image, and files it on your phone. That is the entire product.
This policy explains what the app does with information on your device and what it sends elsewhere, which is nothing. There is no account to create, no server holding your work, and no data collected about you. We have written it out in full below anyway, because you should be able to check rather than take our word for it.
If you have a question this policy does not answer, write to support@fieldstamp.app.
1. What information we collect
None. FieldStamp does not collect, receive or store any information about you or your use of the app. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or company details
- Accounts, usernames or passwords, because there are none to create
- Photos you take, or the details stamped onto them
- Location history, coordinates or addresses
- Device identifiers, advertising identifiers or IP addresses
- Usage data, screen views, session length or crash reports
The app asks for three permissions — camera, location while in use, and add-only access to your photo library — and uses each only for the purpose described below.
2. How the camera is used
Camera access is what lets you take the photo. When you tap the shutter, the app writes the image and its stamp to storage on your device and nowhere else. Denying camera access leaves the app unable to take photos, which is its only function.
3. How location is used
While you have the app open, it reads your device location so it can print the street address on the stamp. Turning coordinates into a readable address is done by Apple's built-in geocoding service, which means your approximate coordinates are sent to Apple for that lookup. That step is handled by iOS under Apple's privacy policy. The developer of FieldStamp neither receives nor stores your location: the address comes back, is written onto the photo, and the coordinates are discarded. They are not kept in a separate log and not tied to an identity.
Location is never read in the background or when the app is closed. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings; every other part of the app keeps working and photos are stamped without an address.
4. How the photo library is used
FieldStamp asks for add-only access to your photo library so that Save to Roll can write a stamped photo to your camera roll. Add-only means exactly that: the app can put a photo in, and it cannot read, browse or view the photos already in your library.
Denying this permission leaves everything else working — photos still capture, stamp, and file into their project inside the app.
5. Where your photos are stored
Photos, project numbers, foreman names, photo types and addresses are stored on your device, inside the app. There is no FieldStamp server holding a copy, no cloud backup run by us, and no way for us to retrieve your work.
Because your photos live on the device, deleting the app deletes them. Export anything you need to keep before uninstalling.
6. How information is shared
We do not sell, rent, trade or disclose your information, because we do not hold any. Sharing happens only when you do it yourself:
- Saving a photo to your camera roll puts a copy in your device's photo library
- Sharing or exporting a photo or project sends a copy wherever you send it
Once a copy leaves the app, it is handled by whatever service or app you sent it to, under that service's own terms and privacy policy.
7. Analytics, advertising and tracking
FieldStamp contains no analytics tools, no advertising networks and no third-party tracking software. Nothing profiles you, targets you or follows you across apps. There is no cross-app tracking to opt out of because there is none to begin with.
8. Your controls and rights
Privacy laws in some places give you the right to access, correct, port or delete the personal information a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase — and no request is needed to exercise control over your own data:
- Camera, location and photo permissions can be changed or revoked in your device settings at any time
- Individual photos and whole projects can be deleted inside the app
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device
9. Children
FieldStamp is a work tool for jobsites and is not directed at children. Since the app collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If the app ever begins handling information differently, we will update this policy, change the effective date above and note the change in the app before the new version takes effect.
