Help with FieldStamp
Questions about stamping, addresses, or PM folders. Most answers are below; if yours isn't, email us and we'll reply within one business day.
How it works
What the stamp contains
FieldStamp burns the overlay directly into the image, so the details survive being emailed or texted instead of being stripped with the metadata. The bar can carry:
- Date — filled in automatically
- Location — your current street address, resolved automatically
- PM # — the project or work-order number
- Notification #
- Foreman
- Photo type — Progress, Before, After, and so on
Each field switches on or off in Settings, so the bar shows only what your crew actually needs.
Taking a stamped photo
Point and shoot. The overlay preview sits over the viewfinder, so you see exactly what will be burned in. After the shot, any field can still be edited before saving.
Saving a photo
Save to Roll writes the stamped photo to your iPhone's camera roll, ready to share anywhere.
Save to PM files it into a folder for that PM number, kept inside the app. Enter a PM # in the overlay first — the app prompts you if it's blank.
PM folders
Open the folders view to see every PM number you've photographed, most recent first. Tap into one for the photo grid, where you can select several photos at once to share or delete.
Common questions
The stamp isn't showing the address
Location access has to be set to "While Using the App" in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services → FieldStamp. If access is on and the address still hasn't filled in, the phone hasn't reached a network yet — it resolves once it does.
The address is wrong or imprecise
Addresses come from Apple's geocoding service. On large sites or in rural areas the nearest known address can be some distance off. Tap the location field and type the correct address before saving.
Can I shoot without service?
Yes. Photos capture, stamp and save on the device with no connection. The address is the only part that needs signal, and it fills in once you have it.
Photos aren't saving to my camera roll
Check iOS Settings → FieldStamp → Photos and make sure adding photos is allowed. FieldStamp only ever adds photos — it never reads your library.
Can I change a project number after saving?
No. A photo is filed under the PM # in the overlay at the moment you tap Save to PM, and that number is burned into the image. Check the number before saving; if a photo lands in the wrong folder, share it out and delete it there.
Where are my photos stored?
On your device, inside the app. There is no account and no cloud — nothing is sent to us, ever. Saving to the camera roll or sharing sends a copy where you tell it to. Deleting the app deletes what's inside it, so export anything you need to keep first. See the privacy policy.
